CCI strawberry jams and gift baskets sold online

Apr 18, 2017

The Center for Community Involvement's annual Strawberry Breakfast fundraiser is transitioning into something new to boost support for scholarships for its tutoring service.

Beginning this year, instead of continuing the annual breakfast, CCI volunteers are offering their sought-after strawberry jams and gift baskets for purchase online to increase their capacity to raise more funds and expand the number of scholarships they can offer. To purchase the strawberry jams and gift baskets, visit the following sites:

Moving to online sales of its popular products will enable CCI to continue to offer the community one of the sought-after features of the event, while expanding its base of supporters so that CCI can offer more scholarships and help more students prepare for and succeed in college.

It costs about $350 for a student to receive two hours of tutoring per week for a whole school year. CCI currently provides 17 scholarships for tutoring services and a waiting list for those scholarships begins just a few weeks after the school year opens.

Pacific students provide more than 2,600 hours of tutoring for K-12 students and adults each academic year. K-12 students can get tutoring help on basic reading, math, writing skills, foreign languages and more. Adult learners can get help on passing the GED, test preparation and more.

University of the Pacific's student-run Center for Community Involvement focuses on education, action and community service. Each year Pacific students provide one-on-one tutoring for about 200 students 6 years old and up.
