Sales tax rate increase effective April 1, 2017

Mar 31, 2017

Effective April 1, 2017, the sales tax rate for the City of Stockton will increase to 9 percent. This tax rate change only applies within the Stockton city limits. The prior sales tax rate was 8.75 percent. No sales tax increases are in effect for Sacramento, San Francisco or Union City at this time.

Note: It is the product receipt date that determines the appropriate sales tax rate (not the order placement date or the invoice date).  Therefore, if a product is received on or after April 1, the new sales tax rate applies.

If you have a question about a particular invoice and sales tax rate, please contact the Stockton Accounts Payable Department at 209.946.2156 for guidance.
