IntercuIDI Logoltural Development Inventory (IDI)

The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) assesses intercultural competence-the capability to shift cultural perspective and appropriately adapt behavior to cultural differences and commonalities. The IDI is a 50-item questionnaire that can be completed online in 15-30 minutes. It is grounded in a comprehensive, cross-culturally validated theory of intercultural competence.

After assessment is completed, the IDI generates custom Group and Individual Profile Reports and provides an individualized Intercultural Development Plan (IDP). Results are given by an IDI Qualified Administrator in a Group (1-2 hours) and/or Individual Profile Report (1 hour) Debrief. The debriefs open up dialogue surrounding personal experiences, intercultural development theory, individual IDI results, and coaching, all while in an informal, confidential environment.

Offered through the Pride Resource Center, SafeZone Training works to provide the information and tools that encourage the fostering of a space in which: students understand the impact of their words and actions; faculty and staff feel equipped to create inclusive learning environments; and we all work together to create a more positive, identity-aware space as it pertains to the LGBTQ+ community.

BaFa' BaFa' Cross-Cultural SimulationBaFa BaFa

BaFa' BaFa' is an immersive exercise focused on cross-cultural dialogue & interaction and the conflicts that may arise. BaFa' BaFa' initiates immediate, personal change. This simulation makes participants personally aware of the issues around cultural differences. Participants feel the alienation and confusion that comes from being different. BaFa' BaFa' shakes participants out of thinking in stereotypes of anyone who is different and does so in a safe, stimulating environment.

True Colors LogoTrue Colors

True Colors is a model for understanding yourself and others based on your personality temperament. The colors of Orange, Gold, Green and Blue are used to differentiate the four central personality styles of True Colors. Each of us has a combination of these True Colors that make up our personality spectrum, usually with one of the styles being the most dominant True Color. Identifying your personality and the personalities of others using True Colors provides you with insights into different motivations, actions and communication approaches.
