WRC's Focus on Leadership

One of the main pillars of the Women's Resource Center is preparing students for leadership roles both on campus and in the larger community. We demonstrate this focus in multiple ways:

Women of Distinction

This annual awards luncheon recognizes women identified Pacific students, faculty, staff, as well as members of the Stockton community, who have made significant contributions to the advancement of women and gender equity, and/or who have demonstrated outstanding professional or public leadership. The recipients are honored at a ceremony during Women's History Month. Six awards are given each year: Pacific Staff, Pacific Faculty, Pacific Greek Woman, Graduate Student, Undergraduate and Stockton Community Member.

Student to Student Healthy Relationships Peer Education

The Student 2 Student Peer Education program aims to empower students to teach each other what a healthy relationship looks like. Through the S2S Peer Education Program, participants will be able to further develop their interpersonal and emotional competencies. Participants will be more aware of themselves and others by engaging in dialogues with their peers. Part of the curriculum focuses on learning to engage in healthy dialogue. By practicing and observing healthy communication styles, participants will increase their knowledge on consent and effective communication.

Relationships, whether romantic, friendship or work related, are an important human basic need. We all need social contact. Relationships can be a struggle or rewarding. Pacific Women's Center strives to provide students, co-workers and the community with tools for healthy relationships through presentations with the help of S2S Peer Educators.

To learn more about the S2S Peer Education Program and/or how to get involved as a S2S Peer Educator, please contact check out the S2S website or contact the Women's Resource Center.
